We are seeking an Employment Law Associate to join our dynamic team. If you're a California-barred attorney passionate about employment law and eager to represent management and employers in a wide array of legal matters, we want to hear from you. This is a flexible hybrid role, and while we would love for you to join us in the office twice a month, we're open to considering candidates based anywhere in California with a CA license.
Our Employment Law Practice Group is well-versed in advising and representing clients on all facets of employment law. As an associate in our team, you will have the opportunity to work on matters such as:
Employee hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination
Wage and hour compliance
Employee classification issues
Discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, and retaliation claims
Protecting trade secrets and competitive information
Managing leaves (family, disability, medical, etc.)
Handling reductions in force and ensuring compliance with the WARN Act
We also offer robust risk management services, including policy and compliance audits, strategic workforce training, and conducting timely workplace investigations. You will provide responsive day-to-day advice on hiring, firing, documentation, and performance improvement plans.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will draft and review Independent Contractor Agreements, Employment Agreements, Incentive and Discretionary Compensation Plans, Separation and Release Agreements, NDAs, and offer counsel on noncompetes and nonsolicitation agreements.
Your role will also involve investigations, audits, and claims with governmental agencies such as the DFEH/DLSE and EDD, as well as representing clients in arbitration, federal and state courts, and class action matters. We are particularly interested in candidates with trial experience, even if it's just a few trials under your belt.
