It's never too early to start looking for the right teachers to join our school, so with that in mind, C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School is looking to hire several elementary school teachers for the 2025/2026 academic year, teaching anywhere between 1st and 5th grade.
The role will begin ~ August 2025.
General Summary:
This position is responsible for instructing elementary school students in the core subjects of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Essential Functions:
Plan, prepare, and implement lessons and materials for classes and activities.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities.
Maintain communication with students and parents on their progress in the class.
Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as requested.
Monitor student learning closely to understand how students are progressing toward the learning objectives. Then, provide students with instructive and timely feedback that will move their learning forward.
Establish a safe and supportive classroom environment, encourage risk-taking, let students feel free to contribute their ideas, and ensure that teacher and student interactions are respectful and polite to promote a positive learning environment for all students.
Provide clear student behavior expectations and monitor student behavior throughout the class and school campus.
Follow established policies and procedures for reporting incidents (e.g., child abuse, etc).
Required/Desired Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to compose and comprehend written communication.
Strong commitment to being a part of a collaborative team with colleagues and administration.
Ability to work effectively and sensitively with all constituencies involved in a school: students, parents, and faculty.
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a rigorous educational program.
Familiar with technology and basic computer programs.
Understanding of the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional developmental growth patterns of students.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree and Teaching Credentials are strongly preferred.
