The Office of Social Emotional Learning Elementary and High School Teams work to support evidence-based strategies to create and maintain coordinated and effective school climate, classroom management, social and emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, and behavioral interventions processes at schools as part of a Multi-Tiered System of Support. Our teams are connected to schools via networks or teams that support clusters of schools. Through these networks our specialists lead the development of positive school climate and culture, leadership development, SEL integration, professional development, data monitoring, analysis and coordination and provision of targeted SEL support for the district.
The Elementary and High School Program Associate (approximately 25 hours per week) will report to both the Elementary School SEL Support Manager and the High School SEL Support Manager. This position will be virtual until Chicago Public Schools Central Office staff returns to in-person work.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the administration of the Elementary and High School Team initiatives, which includes:
Monitoring inventory of Tier I curricula/program materials
Packing and dispersing curricula/program materials from Warehouse and other locations
Communicating with school contacts regarding deadlines, requirements, and the results of their applications
Tracking and monitoring of professional development (PD) for ES and HS Specialists and Managers through internal PD tracking systems;
Quality check all internally created professional learning for signature practices including promotion of strategic priorities, template legibility and standardization;
Create and update templates and marketing materials for the ES and HS School Team initiatives;
Develop and maintain internal tracking and reporting systems for ES and HS School Team initiatives, in coordination with the ES and HS Support Managers and OSEL Data Analyst;
Compile and edit entries for a weekly network departmental memo;
Coordinate efforts for OSEL events;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
2+ years of related work experience;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Excellent presentation and customer service skills;
Proficiency with a range of technology and tools, including but not limited to:
Google applications (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, Forms, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Presentations, Sites)
Filters, pivot tables, and formulas (e.g., vlookup) in Excel or Google Sheets
Mail merge functions;
Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment;
Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively multi-task;
Experience developing written materials for publication;
Experience managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation to access schools and training locations throughout Chicago.
