Electronics Technician

12+ Months Contract
Will be required to be onsite fulltime.
Will train in Oshkosh, WI for first several weeks, then work onsite in Spartanburg.
10-30% travel, techs may be asked to go to US Government Client sites to fix issues or train other techs at various Service Centers within US.
Interview Process: 1 phone screen, 1 round video or onsite depending on location of candidate
Top 3 Requirements:
Several years of experience with electronics and programming of electronics (not writing code, just adding programs)
Self-motivated and independent comfortable with trying to resolve issues on his own, but will reach out for help if not making progress
Good communicator, attention to detail, keeps track of work and has used Microsoft Office apps
JOB SUMMARY:
The Technician will support production issues at automotive production facility and potential on-site customer issues with equipment, as well as support senior technicians and engineers in testing vehicles and parts/components, performing configuration changes and repairs of vehicles and test stands, and follow appropriate engineering procedures, standards, and specifications. This role may also provide support in the fabrication and assembly of vehicles and related systems/sub-systems. The objective is to resolve issues with production vehicles and potentially validate new product designs. The Technician is expected to provide exemplary technical support to the customers of Oshkosh Corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Installation, integration, set up, and commissioning test support for electronics equipment at production facility and at customer sites. Equipment installation includes both mechanical mounting and electrical interconnects.
Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material, 2D Prints, electrical schematics, electrical interconnect diagrams, and physical floor plan diagrams.
Maintain a safe work environment, adhere to all safety procedures during all aspects of job performance which includes regular exposure to personal and physical hazards.
Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material, 2D Prints, electrical schematics, electrical interconnect diagrams, and physical floor plan diagrams.
Assemble and install the electrical and electronic systems according to provided engineering data of schematics interconnect diagrams, and equipment installation drawings.
Demonstrate strong computer skills with ability to install and/or update software on various components on the vehicle following documented instructions. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications to document issues, create or update troubleshooting documents, etc.
Troubleshoot and identify root cause for electrical issues with harnesses, cables, and assemblies to determine a corrective action of repair or replace.
Collaborate with industrial and electrical engineers to identify, define, and resolve issues that are identified in production or at customer sites.
Confirm function of equipment prior to customer acceptance.
Operate heavy equipment/machinery or drive vehicles as required for the purposes of testing or material handling.
Determine appropriate test instruments for product testing.
Plan and schedule daily activities to complete assignments in their order of priority to make effective use of time and ensure projects are being completed within identified timeline.
Communicate effectively and work cross functionally to resolve technical problems including the ability to provide constructive feedback to all levels of the organization. Interpret and execute written/verbal directions and instructions.
Travel will be required for training on vehicle electronic modules, as well as for future repair or replacement issues at customer facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Diploma with 2-4 years of experience in automotive facility or equivalent*.
Ability to travel 10-30%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate s degree with 2-4 years of experience in automotive engineering or equivalent*.
Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terms.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals.
Ability to adapt to a fast-pace environment.
Detail oriented.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Tool set and toolbox (required at Defense segment).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Demands: Frequent Standing, Walking/Running, Reaching, Driving, Bending/Kneeling, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Manual Dexterity; Occasional Climbing, Typing, Fine Dexterity, Lifting/Carrying and Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs.; Seldom Sitting, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion.
