Job Title: Electromechanical R&D Engineer
Job Summary: RICO Manufacturing, Inc. seeks an Electromechanical R&D Engineer to assist with the design and development of mechanical and electrical components for our line of industrial trucks, with a primary focus on expanding our explosion-proof (EX) offerings. This position will contribute to developing new solutions for hazardous environment protection, electrical enclosure design, and the overall layout and functionality of industrial trucks. Additionally, the engineer will support new product development efforts, including projects focused on autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs).
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the mechanical and electrical design of industrial trucks and truck components.
- Design, prototype, and test electrical enclosures to meet EX standards and requirements.
- Develop and refine electrical schematics and support the layout and integration of electrical components into truck assemblies.
- Collaborate closely with the R&D team to ensure that new designs meet functionality, safety, and durability standards.
- Contribute to other new product development projects, such as AGVs, providing support on mechanical and electrical designs as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent proven experience in electromechanical design may be accepted in place of a formal degree.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in the design of mobile or material handling equipment is a major plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software, with SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles as they apply to industrial machinery.
Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the R&D Engineering Manager.
