About the Job
The Electro-Optical Engineer will provide support to fiber-laser-based, high-energy laser development efforts and other laser development efforts to support laser-based sensor systems. This support will include, but not limited to, laser construction, experimentation, and laser characterization under supervision of technical staff. Must Have:
-Characterization of kW-class fiber amplifiers (PER, beam quality, power, and phase noise)
-Assembly, Integration, and Alignment of Developmental High-Power Lasers and Laser Systems
-Fiber Laser / Fiber Amplifier
-High Power Laser Systems (?1kW, or some limit)
-Laser Characterization & Documentation (Power, Beam Quality, Wavelength & Temporal Waveform)
-Specifying Optics and other Components for Research and Development Laser Systems
-Use of Lasers, Optics, and/or Optical Fiber
-Fiber and Optical Routing
-Polarized Light in SM and PM fibers Nice to Have:
-Modeling and simulation of lasers
-Pulsed Laser
-Solid State Laser Systems
-Ultrafast Laser
-Fiber Splicing
-Non-Linear Fiber Optics Effects
-Optics - Design
