General Dynamics Land Systems is a global leader in the design, development, production, support and sustainment of tracked and wheeled military equipment, specifically the Abrams Main Battle Tank and the Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.
Function as part of Maintenance Team to support production operations involving hi-tolerance /precision machining, fabrication, paint and sub-assembly in an approximate 300,000 square feet facility operating (current) two (2) shifts per day/ five (5) days per week. Overall, position provides electrical/electronic systems maintenance and developmental support for all plant and equipment engaged in manufacture of component parts for Abrams Main Battle Tank and Stryker Family of Wheeled Combat Vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Layout, maintain and repair all electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the plant including motors, generators, transformers, controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cables and conduits.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant production equipment. PLC, VFD, Servo Motor and Programmable Sensors.
• Perform functional tests to determine electrically powered/controlled machines or equipment operate properly after installation or repair
• Determine horsepower requirements, line loads, and material requirements.
• Operation of lift equipment as required.
• Assist other skilled trades as required. May be assigned to specialized work within the classification. May be assisted by helper.

Background Requirements:
•Preferred eight (8) years of industrial experience
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• PLC, VFD, Servo Motor and Programmable Sensor communication experience (preferred).
• Skill/Ability in use of various types of testing equipment to locate and correct trouble.
• Skill/Ability in reading and applying facility drawings including electrical schematics and riser diagrams.
• Proficiency in thin-walled and rigid pipe bending.
• Working knowledge/experience with voltages of 480,277 and 120.
• Working knowledge of National Electrical and General Building Codes.
• Knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment used in the electrical trade.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders.
• Certification to operate Lift Equipment or ability to obtain.
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner.
• Motivation as self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a Team.
• Possess general computer skills.
• Must be U.S. Person.
