Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, following prescribed guidelines, performs electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in compliance with the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E. Designs, develops, and implements solutions for electrical systems. Provides insight and recommendations to leadership to enhance system performance and maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects and repairs electronic/electrical systems to prevent shutdowns and/or major overhauls.
Repairs, replaces, installs, or alters systems according to trade practices and National Electrical Code with respect to the NFPA 70E regulations.
Performs system design layouts that provide flexibility through structure and sizing.
Plans and implements the design, manufacture, installation and/or maintenance of electrical systems and apparatus, such as electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring and power systems/devices, for the generation, transmission, and control of electric power.
Checks and maintains systems after installation and makes necessary changes, adjustments, and modifications according to blueprints, schematics, and manufacturers' specifications.
Performs electrical maintenance, maintaining fixtures, replacing circuit breakers, troubleshooting malfunctions, and replacing defective equipment as required. Layouts and installs Data Communications and AV Cabling systems.
Provides 24-hour availability, overtime, for emergency calls during designated on-call week.
Continues to build knowledge of the organization and electrical infrastructure to provide training and assisting newer electricians as needed.

Qualifications
Associate degree in electrical maintenance or equivalent, and six years of Commercial Electric Trade experience required; or,
Completion of a four-year electrical apprenticeship and four years of Commercial Electric Trade experience required; or,
Completion of Vocational Technical Schooling and eight years of Commercial Electric Trade experience required; or,
High School diploma and ten years of Commercial Electric Trade experience required.
Electricians at this level are required to possess a working knowledge of:
Working knowledge of Medium Voltage Systems and 600V AC/DC Systems required. Working knowledge of proper procedures for designing, installing, and maintaining complex critical electrical systems required. Knowledge of proper safety procedures and the National Electrical Code, OSHA and NFPA 70E required. Working knowledge of Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches and Uninterruptible Power Systems, and Variable Frequency Drives required. Candidate must have the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate company needs required. The position requires the incumbent to provide 24-hour availability for emergency call-in service. Valid driver's license required.
Journeymen License preferred. OSHA 10 hour and NFPA 70E Certification preferred. Medium Voltage Systems experience preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
Working knowledge of email, spreadsheet and PDF software preferred.
