Position Title: Electrician 2
Location: Highland, IL
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electrician 2 to assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in custom manufactured trailers and displays. This intermediate level position is perfect for someone looking to further their career in electrical work. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical field with experience in 120/240 phase. A strong emphasis on workplace safety and attention to detail is crucial to excel in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in custom trailers and displays.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Perform intermediate level electrical troubleshooting and repairs under the minimal supervision of experienced technicians.
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Participate in training programs to enhance electrical skills and knowledge.
- Document work performed and parts used for accurate record-keeping.
- Provide guidance and support to Electrical team members.
- Stay updated with the latest electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the electrical field and/or equivalent education.
- Basic knowledge of wiring methods and proper wire sizing.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Basic understanding of concepts of circuit protection.
- Basic understanding of multimeters.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
- Must possess the following skill sets:
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Read tape measure and protractor
- Use air and electric hand tools
- Wire branch and feeder circuits
- Install lighting and receptable outlets
- Ability to solve moderate issues and learn the job quickly.
- Must be safety conscious with good housekeeping skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Must effectively communicate and present interpretations of work.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards team members and other departments.
- Displays initiative to learn and take on more responsibilities.
- Ability to work successfully within a team and as an individual contributor.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Associate's degree in Electrical or similar field, 2 years Vocational High School Electrical program and/or completion of Electrical Certification program.
- 2 + years' electrical experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Intermediate understanding of electrical principles, concepts, and NEC code book.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to stand up 8+ hours per day.
- Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
- Physically able to move and transport up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to ascend/descend on a ladder, climb in/out of trailers and work atop scaffolding.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
- Ability to bend, grip and move fingers/hands.
- Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions.
