Overview
Under general supervision the Electrical Technician II is responsible for electricaltroubleshooting, installation, repair and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
+ Inpects, tests, and maintains substation electrical equipment, such as circuit breakers and transformers: Inspects and tests equipment to detect malfunctioning
+ Troubleshoot and reset breakers and control circuits
+ Install, and repair lighting systems
+ Installs, diagnoses and repairs transformers, motors and starters, switchgear, programmable logic controllers, relays and meter equipment
+ Installs, alters or replaces conduit, wiring, switches and outlets for lighting and power supply for interior electrical systems
+ Inspects and maintains primary service installations and power distribution systems
+ Maintains and calibrates electrical meters and emergency power systems
+ Follows basic electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedure
+ Completes work orders and paperwork related to job tasks
+ Performs duties in accordance with departmental and regulatory safety procedures and standards
Qualifications
+ HS Diploma or equivalent. Electrician certification is required
+ At least 10 years of experience in a Electrician position with progressives responsibilities
+ Maximo knowledge is preferred
+ SAP CMMS knowledge is preferred
+ Knowledge of electrical wiring is required
+ Proficient computer skills are required. Strong Microsoft Office skills highly preferred
+ Abiltiy to use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers
+ Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Must have a strong mechanical and/or electrical systems aptitude
+ Must be able to install low voltage/alarm electrical systems to manufacturer specifications
+ Ability to properly use hand and power tools
+ Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics
+ Ability to prepare and assemble conduits and connect electrical wiring
+ Ability to inspect, troubleshoot and replace old wiring and insulated cables, clean circuits
Physical Demands
+ Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
+ Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
+ Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
