- Lead efforts to ensure the reliability of electrical equipment through the development and continuous improvement of preventative maintenance programs
- Utilize failure analysis techniques to determine the root causes of issues and initiate corrective actions to reduce or eliminate failures
- Establish and implement preventive maintenance procedures, plan equipment outages, and manage efficient replacements
- Collaborate with Plant Engineering to ensure drawings are updated, provide counsel on equipment redesign, and coordinate requirements for equipment operations
- Assist in improving departmental spare parts management, including maintenance, repair, and cost control procedures
- A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or engineering, with a preference for candidates with co-op experience and knowledge of paper mills
- Expertise in PLC programming, particularly with Rockwell or Siemens software, and the ability to tweak existing logic for performance improvements
- Strong skills in diagnosing and recommending solutions for electrical maintenance personnel, particularly in managing AC/DC drives and servos
- Willingness to work in a blue-collar, steel mill environment, with a balance of 80% fieldwork and 20% office tasks
- Ability to manage small and large-scale improvements while driving communication between departments
