About the Job
Meta is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Accelerator Reference Design team. Our team is responsible for designing and validating custom AI modules and platforms to support our fast growing AI demand at scale. Throughout the internship, the intern will be involved in the design process, work closely with other team members to thoroughly validate our modules for our custom AI silicon, and work on detailed hardware design for our AI platforms. This role will provide the intern with an opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience and solve open ended challenges to further build upon the intern’s skills while being given close mentorship from peers.

Electrical Engineer Intern Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with server architecture, hardware design, and Meta’s custom AI silicon
- Deep dive into operational theory of circuits, power electronics, and/or signal integrity
- Root cause hardware failures at Meta's lab and/or data centers by working with peers and external vendors
- Develop test plans, execute validation, and publish findings to team
- Partner with team peers for development of a new module
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Experience with electrical test lab equipment (e.g. Oscilloscope, Analyzers, DMM, Power Supply, etc.)
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware issues at board level
- Knowledge of using Linux or similar operating systems and scripting experience
- Experience with computer and/or server system architecture
- Experience with CAD software for schematics, PCB layout, and simulation
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Prior experience in hardware design and electrical validation
- Detail oriented, collaborative, and communications skills
- Experience in signal integrity or high-speed communication interfaces
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
