Job Overview
A large manufacturing plant in Hahnville, LA seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide power engineering and maintenance support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical power engineering within a manufacturing environment, particularly in power maintenance and project engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance: Analyze equipment performance, make recommendations to improve reliability, reduce costs, and manage equipment installations.
- Cost Estimation & Project Proposals: Prepare cost estimates and engineering proposals for equipment replacement and maintenance improvements.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams, assisting in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems.
- Training Development: Train production, maintenance, and other departments in troubleshooting, repair techniques, and operation of electrical equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance Programs: Design, implement, and evaluate preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and operational needs.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain equipment repair records, engineering drawings, and logs. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, as well as NERC standards.
- Project Management: Lead small capital projects, including developing cost estimates and design specifications, and participate in troubleshooting major equipment issues.
- Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security Programs: Participate actively in plant HESS programs to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Experience: 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in a power generation or manufacturing environment (10+ years preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project cost estimation, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of preventive maintenance program implementation and regulatory compliance.
