A multi-discipline engineering firm with over 50 years in business is looking for an Electrical Engineer for their Detroit team! This position may be worked remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a multi-disciplined team of Engineering and Architecture professionals
- Building projects include industrial, mining, rail, education, government, aviation, and municipal markets
- Implement electrical engineering portion of projects including development of site, power, lighting, signal plans, one-lines, panel board, conduit/cable, equipment schedules, and detail drawings
- Assist with construction administration (responding to contractor questions, show drawing review, and observations)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years of progressive experience in power, lighting, and signal system design for commercial/industrial facilities
- PE License or ability to obtain within 12-18 months
- Experience with basic layout/design of electrical distribution equipment (panel boards, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, security and data)
- Previous design experience with 208/120 and 480/277 volt systems
- Basic knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Basic experience/knowledge associated with Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%) for team meetings, client consultations, and site inspections/visits
- Previous experience with business development (scoping for proposals, fee estimates, and interview participation for electrical design)
- Previous experience with private owner underground/overhead medium voltage (13.8kV) site power distribution preferred
- Previous experience with industrial power system designs for motor and process equipment control including motor control full voltage, soft start, and variable frequency drives preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience.
