Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with IPC-610/620 standards, PCB design, and ground-based control systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in troubleshooting, creating detailed work instructions, and conducting design reviews before product release. This role will include a blend of aerospace and medical device experience, ensuring designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and high-performance criteria across both sectors.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with IPC-610/620 standards, PCB design, and ground-based control systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in troubleshooting, creating detailed work instructions, and conducting design reviews before product release. This role will include a blend of aerospace and medical device experience, ensuring designs meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and high-performance criteria across both sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize electrical systems for both aerospace and medical device applications, ensuring compliance with IPC-610/620 standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Develop and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) for aerospace, medical devices, and ground-based control systems, overseeing the process from schematic capture to layout, testing, and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and quality engineers, to integrate electrical systems into aerospace platforms and medical devices.
- Create and maintain detailed work instructions, technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system schematics for production and testing teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during the design, testing, and production phases, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews before product release to ensure all electrical systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards for both aerospace and medical devices.
- Help to develop and execute test protocols for aerospace and medical device environments, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations such as FAA, AS9100, and FDA/ISO 13485 for medical devices.
- Interface with suppliers, manufacturers, and testing labs to ensure component quality and regulatory compliance in both aerospace and medical device sectors.
- Participate in system-level integration and testing, supporting both aerospace and medical device projects through to full production and release.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace and/or medical device electrical systems design and development.
- Proficiency in IPC-610/620 standards for electronics assembly, PCBs, and cable/wire harnessing.
- Background in PCB design, layout, and testing, using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Eagle.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting electrical systems and performing root cause analysis for aerospace and medical devices.
- Familiarity with the development and review of work instructions, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Experience conducting design reviews and ensuring readiness for product release in both aerospace and medical device environments.
- Knowledge of ground-based control systems and integration into aerospace platforms, as well as medical device systems.
- Familiarity with electrical testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters) and diagnostic techniques.
Pay Range: $38 - $45 hr
