Electric Motor/ Hoist Technician
Hoist / warehouse service technician is responsible for a variety of functions that range from processing incoming shipments and materials, to picking and filling orders for customer. The technician is required to work as a member of a team and as an individual based on the task must be a self-starter.
Other responsibly include organizing, inspecting, and repairing equipment so that it is in good and safe working condition before being put back into service.
Employees must also practice safe work conditions to prevent injuries and hazards from arising.
Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have and maintain a valid NC driver's license
- Proficiency in verbal communications in the English language
- Proficiency in reading and writing the English language
- Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical schematics
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at later date.
Must be mechanically and electrically inclined. Proficient in the repair of electric motors and gear boxes or have the capability, and desire to learn complex systems within six months. Candidate shall complete factory training and maintain manufactures certifications.
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
- Overhaul and repair of hoist motors
- Disassembles hoist motors and replaces defective parts and reassembles
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic equipment
- Must be able to maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
- Perform Preventive and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
- responsible for parts (Inventory)
- Follow checklist to ensure all important parts are examined
- Enter work orders into computer system
- Provide excellent customer service to service customers, internal and external
- Troubleshoots, tears down, repairs, reassembles, test and performs maintained on standard equipment accessories
- Perform inspections in accordance with the manufacture's recommendations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Process, prepare, and palatize orders for shipment
- Sort, organize, inspect, repair, complete service reports, and return equipment to proper storage locations.
- Assist unloading and loading customer's orders
- Maintain safe work conditions daily by cleaning floors, shelves, tools, workstations, etc.
- Wear proper safety equipment and apparel (PPE)
- Take corrective action if potential hazards arise so that you and your team are safe from injury and hazards
- Communicate efficiently written, verbal, and respectfully with customers, and fellow employees
- Ability to follow instructions in an efficient manor
- Problem solving and organizational skills
- Efficient commutation skills - operating a calculator, counting, addition, subtracting, etc.
- Reliable and dependable
- Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas
Training:
Technicians must complete required training which includes:
- Industrial Forklift
- Fire prevention, lockout tag out, personal protective equipment, blood borne pathogens
- Manufactures technical training for hoist
- Training for suspended scaffolding equipment
- OSHA 10 hr.
Other course may be required as equipment changes.
Basic Physical Functions required:
