Position Summary: As an Applications Engineer, you will join the Applications Engineering team in Houston, TX. Your primary role involves providing technical support for Bray’s Electric Actuator product line. This includes assisting internal and external customers with product applications, sizing, selection, and technical inquiries.
Location: Onsite 4 days, 1 day remote in Houston Texas
Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide solutions and technical assistance related to electric actuator applications, sizing, and materials.
Collaboration: Work closely with the applications engineering team, product management, and customers to develop and cross-train on products and solutions.
Expertise: Become a recognized authority on electric actuators, offering consultation to both internal teams and external customers.
Documentation: Manage technical documents such as data sheets, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Standards: Maintain knowledge of industry standards (NEC, UL, IEC, ISO) and ensure compliance in product applications.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for product application guides and continuous improvement efforts.
Customer Interaction: Review customer specifications, address complaints, and support modification facilities as needed.
Competitor Analysis: Develop understanding of competitor products and features relative to Bray’s offerings.
Team Collaboration: Participate actively in team meetings, providing feedback and support across various issues.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent. Strong preference for candidates with Electrical/Electronics Engineering background.
Experience: 3-5 years in actuation and controls, specifically with electric actuators. Knowledge of actuator materials is beneficial.
Skills: Proficiency in electrical schematics, electronic logic, and familiarity with communication protocols. Basic 3D modeling and CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be proactive, self-driven, and capable of delivering presentations and trainings.
Authorization: Permanent work authorization in the USA.
