CULTA is currently looking for our next Edibles Technician to join our driven Edibles team in Cambridge, MD! As an Edibles Technician you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, production, and inventory management of cannabis infused edibles within the CULTA Processing Facility in accordance with Maryland laws and regulations and standards set by CULTA.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate various instruments and equipment within the edible kitchen according to SOPs.
- Ensure routine maintenance and cleaning is performed on all equipment.
- Preform basic kitchen duties.
- Use sensitive weighing equipment to measure ingredients with precision.
- Combine ingredients in a clean, thorough, and efficient manner- sometimes with the use of a large stand-mixer.
- Maintain inventory of raw non cannabis materials and ingredients.
- Communicates order needs for the edible staff and equipment to the Edibles Supervisor.
- Assists Inventory Manager with month end counts and maintains a weekly inventory for the Edibles Supervisor.
- Able to identify problems or malfunctions with equipment and responsible for communicating with the Edibles Supervisor when equipment is not performing optimally.
- Ensures products are produced in a sanitary and timely manner for distribution.
- Works as part of a team to meet production schedules.
- Knowledgeable in CULTA's Standard Operating Procedures for daily operations, good manufacturing practices, and quality control.
- Documents all activities in company laboratory notebooks/ online logs and inventory tracking system.
- Assists in the sample collection for internal and third-party testing for infused items.
- Assists in quality assurance of cannabis edibles and beverages.
- Maintains a safe and productive edible kitchen work area that is clean, sanitized, organized and ready for a state inspection at any time.
- Follow and remain compliant with safety protocols and consult with Edible Supervisor regarding safety issues that may arise.
- Must be able to strictly follow CULTA's policies and procedures within the Edibles Manufacturing Department, including but limited to logs, forms, and any additional record-keeping documentation.
- Participate in relevant training as new procedures and products are introduced.
Job Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Culinary Arts or related discipline preferred.
- 2 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to work onsite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Experience with standard electronic data management.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Effective time- management and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be able to complete Food Handler Essentials Course, obtain Food Handlers Card and keep current during employment.
- Complete New Business and Advanced Metrc Training.
- Microsoft 365 experience.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
- A focus on process and product safety.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
