Job Overview:The role of the Engineering Technician II is to provide customers with shipboard & shore systems installation support, systems sustainment support, groom support & trouble ticket support, (CONUS & OCONUS). This position reports directly to the VIDS Group in Chesapeake, VA.
This position is open to Chugach Employees, Chugach Shareholders and Chugach Descendants ONLY.
Work Model: Onsite/In-Office
Responsibilities:Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Working closely with the government sponsor(s) and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities.
- Provide infrastructure installation and troubleshooting support.
- Implementation of infrastructure solutions.
- Provide copper and fiber termination and slicing support.
- Operation of fiber copper and wireless test equipment.
- Coordinate with manager and supervisors and apprise them of their progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- High School diploma or GED
- Four (4) years’ experience working in the engineering industry supporting shipboard & shore infrastructure environment or
- Associate degree in C4ISR systems, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- Experience with DoD, National, EIA/TIA and BICSI technical and OSHA safety standards.
- Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications.
- Two (2) year contractor apprenticeship with at least six (6) months of formal classroom training in Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must have valid driver’s licensewith ability to provide driving record upon request.
