ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the EXECUTION SUPPORT ENGINEERING DIVISION, OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will provide the required production documents through planning workflow, estimating resource requirements, and production document generation for authorized work. You will identify and develop job summaries, component unit identifiers, component unit phases, production work documents, and task group instructions required to accomplish overhaul and repair to Ocean Engineering systems. You will create and maintain job files for historical maintenance durations and funding data to allow for more efficient availability planning, reducing overhead cost on availabilities. You will conduct on-site investigation of equipment in shop and shipboard for determination of potential problems or other production impediments. You will participate in job scoping and job summary meetings. You will use qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques as required to provide guidance on critical issues and policy matters. You will prepare detailed production instructions for accomplishment of work and testing in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and other technical direction. You will identify the required processes, facilities, trade involvement, specialized equipment, and material necessary for work and test accomplishment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and developing technical engineering procedures or work methods to identify, evaluate and resolve operational problems or work control deficiencies and recommend improved work procedures or corrective action in support of the repair, modification, or overhaul of ships or submarines. For the GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing technical engineering procedures or work methods to identify, evaluate and resolve operational problems or work control deficiencies and recommend improved work procedures or corrective action in support of the repair, modification, or overhaul of ships or submarines.
