Short Description:
Program assistance needed for DPH's Office of Emergency Medical Services(OEMS), with EMT certification. Position provides telephone and email support to EMTs, reviews applications and assists with clerical tasks to support certification and education.
Complete Description:
1. Reviews submitted electronic and paper applications in accordance with established procedures, processing through electronic computer systems.
2. Provides telephone and email customer service with certified personnel in efforts to maintain or reinstate EMT certification, answering questions based on established procedures, or collects information for others to follow up.
3. Provides assistance to individuals with respect to verification of past or current certification.
4. Processes and maintains records related to certification and recertification.
Requirements:
Ability to use common computer applications (such as Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Pro, Word, Excel, and Access) Required.
Ability to deal tactfully with others, Required.
Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures and accurate records - Required.
Ability to determine proper format and procedure for assembling items of information. Required.
Ability to multi task with extreme attention to detail, Required.
Ability to write concisely, to express thoughts clearly and to develop ideas in a logical sequence, Required.
Ability to communicate effectively and give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner, Required.
