JOB DESCRIPTION
M&J is seeking an experienced EHS/Safety Specialist for a new manufacturing facility located in Beltsville, MD where we will be performing construction management services. This is a contingent hire position, meaning that the position can only be filled/begin upon contract award by M&J Engineering.
Responsibilities:- Performs daily, on-site check of construction operation to assure contractor is performing in accordance with EM 385-1-1 to define problems and devise and provide recommendations on alternative courses of action in a report to the COR.
- Ensure all project personnel comply with Site, Safety and Occupational Health (SSOH) requirements, prepare a report of any deficiencies and recommended solutions, and provide the report to the COR.
- Review Accident Prevention Plans and prepare a report of findings to provide to the COR.
- Review AHAs and prepare a report of findings to provide to the COR.
- Coordinates and participates in Quality Management and Safety inspections at construction field sites to ascertain that Safety requirements are being performed per established policies, regulations, plans, and Construction Division Operating Manual; and consults with field personnel to prepare a report of findings/deficiencies, to include any recommendations for corrective action, to be provided to the COR.
- Assists and advises field personnel in the execution of Safety duties and submit any findings in a report to the COR.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Personnel, as required by the work to be performed, with experience in the field of construction safety, familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 and OSHA 1926, and credentials on safety education and training. Individual (s) shall attend all pre-construction conferences, tail-gate meetings, and prework meetings, to include preparatory meetings and periodic in-progress meetings. Individual(s) shall have demonstrated experience performing the duties typically associated to a safety specialist on a construction project.
