Job Title: Interim Controller
Location: Denver, Colorado Metro Area
Work Schedule: 3 Days On-Site, 1 Day Remote
Compensation: $55 - $85 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in the Denver Metro Area, is seeking an Interim Controller to manage full-cycle month-end accounting processes. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing key financial insights to support decision-making. The Interim Controller will work on-site 3 days a week with 1 remote day and may need to travel to client sites as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle month-end accounting, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and other core accounting functions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning.
- Manage financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure tax compliance by managing tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Interim Controller or senior accounting professional.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing month-end close processes, financial statements, and audits.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Compensation
- Hourly rate ranging from $55 to $85 per hour, depending on experience.
- Travel required to client sites as needed.
