Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled, medically focused Optometrist to join our expanding team. In this role, you will act as the gatekeeper for our ophthalmologists, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care. You will handle a high volume of patients, focusing on medical optometry, including cataract and glaucoma follow-ups, ocular disease management, and screenings for conditions appropriate for your license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medically-focused eye exams and follow-ups, including managing patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes.
- Handle a patient volume of 30 to 40 patients per day with support from scribes and technicians.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists to ensure optimal use of surgical resources.
- Manage ocular disease and perform pre- and post-operative care.
- Meet or exceed capitated population goals to achieve significant performance bonuses.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in optometry is preferred.
- Strong experience in medical optometry and ocular disease management.
- Ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
