SiteOne Landscape Supply is the nation’s largest distributor of nursery, irrigation, outdoor lighting, landscape supplies, fertilizers, turf protection products, grass seed, turf care equipment, and golf course accessories. SiteOne operates ~700 Branches and four distribution centers covering 45 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.
SiteOne has seen tremendous growth over the last few years, and we are expanding our distribution center network to ensure best in class service levels to our branch locations.
Position Overview:We are looking to hire a Distribution Center General Manager that will be responsible for the launch and ongoing operation of this new DC located in the greater Kenosha, WI market.
This position will work with cross functional teams to identify and implement solutions to enhance DC operations while continuously lowering costs, standardizing service levels, increasing throughput, and increasing the efficiencies within the DC. The ideal candidate will have previous distribution center senior leadership experience, experience with implementing a WMS, and a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service for a wholesale or retail organization while fostering a safe and productive work environment. Experience with new site startup and process building and documentation is preferred.
The Distribution Center General Manager II will report to the Director, Distribution Operations and will be based full time at the SiteOne DC located in the greater Kenosha, WI area.
What you’ll do:
- Drive day-to-day efficiencies at the SiteOne DC through an analytical and customer first mindset
- Successfully lead a team of Distribution Leaders, Associates, and Support Functions
- Work with internal business units to ensure processes and service levels meet the needs of the Branches and customers
- Identify key performance indicators and service metrics to drive performance, measure consistency, and implement best-in-class standards
- Ensure appropriate systems, processes, and people are in place to meet and exceed defined targets
- Manages monthly and annual budget, identifies opportunities for improvement and completes a root-cause analysis on driving factors
- Develop leaders to be capable of coaching, counseling, and motivating associates on safety, customer service, productivity, and engagement
- Ensure all company and HR policies are communicated and followed
- Ensure a Safety First environment in and outside of the DC by leading safety programs, ensuring associates receive safety training, enforcing safety procedures and addressing safety issues
- Develop, document, and execute standard operating procedures
- Analyze and recommend improvements to current systems and processes, fosters a continuous improvement mindset and promotes one with the DC team
- Develop, measure, and analyze performance and develop improvement plans to maximize efficiency
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, audit execution, and quality control
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills We Are Seeking::
- 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years’ leadership experience in distribution operations
- A track record of providing superior customer service and exceeding expectations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers and staff at all organizational levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and WMS functionality
- Experience in the green distribution, irrigation, nursery, or landscape industry is a plus
- Preferred experience:
- Experience launching a new distribution center (site buildout and staffing)
- Experience implementing a SaaS based warehouse management application (Manhattan preferred)
