Job Requisition ID #24WD77444Position OverviewWe are seeking a systems architect to become an integral part of our Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Platform Data team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building the systems and services that power the data infrastructure of Autodesk's existing and future AEC products.
This opportunity is for you if you have passion for the design of complex systems architectures and are excited by the idea of transforming how AEC professionals use data to capture knowledge, inform decisions, and deliver projects.As a Distinguished Systems Architect in Autodesk's AEC Platform Data team, you will be at the forefront of designing the next generation of data capabilities for the Autodesk Forma Industry Cloud.
You'll collaborate with software architects from the world's foremost applications for designing and constructing buildings and infrastructure, including Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, the Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Forma.
You'll define the software architecture that reimagines how AEC data (e.g.
3D models, 2D drawings, issue tracking, cost, sensor streams, etc.) is stored and exchanged between teams, companies, and applications.
Your leadership will foster the creation of the data infrastructure which will help the AEC industry to create a better, more sustainable world.This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr.
Director of AEC Data.
The position can be hybrid or remote with a preference for candidates in Boston, MA or United States or Canada from Central to Eastern time zones.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and analyze data requirements to meet the needs of Autodesk's AEC product data infrastructureShape the components, relationships, and governing principles that define the architecture of our AEC data systemsDesign, document, and support implementation of complex system architectures, databases, and processing systems by defining data services and APIs, data models/schemas, event streamsCollaborate with other software architects and disciplines to develop strategic solutions to handle complex problems and specify systems interactions with Autodesk's AEC products & servicesCreate trustworthy technology by ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications and architectures.Articulate and collaborate on proposed software designs using views, diagrams, etc.Maintain and apply expert-level, up-to-date knowledge of relevant architectural patterns and technologiesWork with peers throughout Autodesk to understand our technology landscape and challenges, articulate opportunities, and promote changeLead re-use of platform capabilities and drive contributions to the Autodesk platform.Explain and present technical topics to varied audiences, including senior leadershipMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience10+ years of experience as a Software Architect or similar role in data-intensive cloud environmentsExperience with cloud services, database architecture, big data tools, and frameworksStrong understanding of data management and data processing principlesExcellent knowledge of software and application design and architectureMastery of taking complex ideas and conveying them in a concise and impactful mannerExcellent verbal, written communication, and presentation abilities to effectively communicate software architecture strategy to a variety of stakeholdersAbility to collaborate with a global team and travel for work 5-10 times per yearPreferred QualificationsExperience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industryAn advanced degree in computer scienceAn industry expert in and contributor to software architecture practiceLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! by visiting Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package.
For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $189,000 and $305,800.
Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
