Job Description:
Our client in Jessup, MD is seeking an Experienced Dispatcher to join their team. This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent placement, based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience in coordinating logistics in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatching drivers and coordinating schedules to ensure timely deliveries and services
- Communicating with drivers and providing instructions to resolve issues or delays
- Tracking and monitoring the status of deliveries and shipments
- Managing incoming calls and emails regarding dispatch requests
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure efficient routing and operations
- Handling customer inquiries and resolving scheduling or logistical issues
- Maintaining accurate records of dispatches, schedules, and deliveries
- Performing other administrative tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role is required
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of routing software or dispatching systems is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in logistics or transportation management is a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
