As an entry-level Dishwasher - Kitchen Team Member, your dishwashing role is vital in ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth operation of the kitchen. Your day is filled with various tasks that contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment You arrive at work and prepare for the day ahead. You review the assigned equipment and procedures, ensuring you understand the specific tasks and safety guidelines. You gather all necessary supplies, such as dish racks, cleaning solutions, and personal protective equipment.
Your first task is to scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, and trays. Depending on the assigned equipment, you either wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to be processed in the dishwashing machine. Throughout this process, you ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation, maintaining high standards of hygiene. You also focus on polishing silverware using the designated equipment and procedures. This may involve using a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth. Again, your attention to cleanliness and sanitation is crucial to ensure all silverware meets the required standards.
Throughout your shift in this entry-level Dishwasher - Kitchen Team Member role, you remain vigilant about safety procedures. You ensure compliance with outlined safety protocols and guidelines, taking necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries. Additionally, you maintain proper temperature and chemical levels as specified by the provided standards. As a Dishwasher, you play a role in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. You keep the dish area orderly, adhering to safety standards. This includes sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors regularly to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment. You also wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces to maintain a sanitary workspace.
Part of your responsibilities involves managing waste efficiently. You remove trash from designated areas and ensure it is properly disposed of. This may include steam cleaning or hosing out garbage cans to maintain cleanliness and prevent unpleasant odors. Throughout the day, you provide support to the kitchen dishwashing team. You transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, ensuring everything is readily accessible. You may also assist in loading and unloading supplies and products, contributing to the overall efficiency of the kitchen operations.
As with any job, there may be additional tasks assigned to you from time to time. You willingly take on these responsibilities and perform them efficiently, contributing to the smooth functioning of the kitchen. While working in this Dishwasher - Kitchen Team Member position, your dedication to cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to safety standards is critical to the success of the kitchen operations.
