Director of our Early Childhood Center (ECC) - Ramaz School

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead ourEarly Childhood Center team, reporting to and working with the Head of Nursery – Eighth Grade (N-8) to help shape and actualize the ECC’s educational vision and direction.  

• Build a learning environment that fosters positive relationships among children, teachers, parents, faculty and staff. 

• Ensure curriculum attends to developmental goals for students as well as readiness skills for each subsequent year. 

• Overseerecruitment and onboarding of prospective teachers and staff. 

• Oversee and support faculty and staff in all areas of the classroom, including curriculum implementation. 

• Supervise,coordinate, observe, mentor, and support the growth of teachers. 

• Design and implement professional development opportunities for faculty. 

• Maintain systems to support program operations, including overseeing scheduling, use of physical spaces, events, and budgeting 

• Ensurecompliance with the most current New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene rules and regulations. 

• Serve as an integral member of the educational leadership team, fostering strategic alignment across school divisions and contributing to strengthening the institution as a whole. 

• Actively engage in community outreach and participate in the broader development of programming to enhance family involvement and elevate the school’s profile. 

• Foster and maintain positive, supportive, and transparent relationships with ECC families, including home-school communication.  

• Collaboratewith parent council to plan events and workshops throughout the school year. 

• Oversee, coordinate, develop, and implement events, programs, and Jewish milestone celebrations.  

• Represent the ECC at admissions, recruiting, and other events that promote and market the school.
