Medical City Planoopened in 1975 and providesPlano and Collin County with advanced health care. Medical City Plano is a 600+bed acute care hospital. We have more than 2,000 employees and over 1,400physicians on staff. Our main campus in Plano has a cancer treatment center andcardiovascular programs. We have The Bariatric Surgery Institute, a Wound CareCenter and inpatient rehabilitation. We also offer complete women's andchildren's services. This includes a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3neonatal intensive-care unit. We were the first hospital in Dallas, Collin orDenton counties to be named a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the TexasDepartment of State Health Services. Medical City Plano was the first Level ITrauma Center in Collin County and The Burn & Reconstructive Center ofTexas was the first burn center in Collin County. Job Summary and Qualifications
Therole ofDirector of Surgical Services leadsthe perioperative team by focusing on safe patient care while effectivelymanaging operations. The Director Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility fortheir departments.

- You will accurately identifyreal/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication

- You will overseea PI program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
- You will be responsible for departments operational excellence by ensuring delivery of quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards
- You will follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens
- You will enforcesafe procedural site and patient verification policy
- You will monitor and respondto quality event reporting
- You will supportnew program strategies and/or program enhancements which would expand patient services
- You will develop, prioritizeand defend capital equipment requests
- You will be responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organizations financial resources
- You will advancethe growth agenda forSurgical Services
- You will strives to become the OR of Choice for physicians, patients, staff, and payers in the community they serve

What qualifications you will need:
- Master's degreein Nursing REQUIRED
- 3+ YEARS of recent acute care Director of Surgical Services required
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulationrequired
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR)preferred
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM)preferred

- Oversight of Plano + Medical City Sachse ORs
- Director reports into VP Surgical Services
- 5 managers report directly into Director total of around 230 FTEs
Overview
- 25 ORs, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Hospital
- 1,000 cases/month
- Trauma and burn are a big focus (experience in these areas is nice to have). Elective surgery side focus on surgical oncology, neuro & orthopedics
- Sachse campus has 3 ORs
