Description:
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of Lift Bridge Brewing Co. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will drive efficiency, quality, and profitability by leading initiatives to optimize processes, minimize waste, and implement innovative value-added strategies. The role focuses on operational excellence, team development, and strategic improvements to enhance business growth and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and management skills to motivate and guide the team, analyze potential issues, develop solutions and make informed decisions.
Job Qualifications:
- Results driven leader with a strong track record of managing and achieving operational and financial goals.10+ years of experience in brewery operations management (or similar).
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in a relevant field.
- Experience and understanding of preventive maintenance, ordering and inventory management, record keeping and data analysis.
- Extensive experience and understanding of the brewing process, sanitation, yeast health and fermentation and beer transfer and clarification.
- Experience with brewery quality assurance and quality control plans.
- Ability to safely work with cleaning/sanitizing chemicals and in varying environments.
- Able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs occasionally.
- OrchestratedBeer, SAP Business One, or other ERP software experience preferred.
- Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office Suite / Google Suite.
- Adept at both leading and participating in cross-functional teams to define issues and agree on processes, strategies, and outcomes.
- Exceptional organizational & communication skills to a variety of audiences.
- Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work autonomously on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to reliably commute to Stillwater, MN, New Richmond, WI or surrounding areas on a daily basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of all Lift Bridge Brewing Co. facilities.
- Manage scheduling of production including working with sales and production teams on new release products to meet required volumes and launch dates.
- OrchestratedBeer ERP System:
- Ensure all production is entered accurately and timely into the system.
- Implement and maintain technology and software solutions to improve efficiency and productivity in brewery operations.
- Manage inventory and procurement processes to ensure the availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Deep-dive review of COGS for all areas of production, monitoring and analyzing brewery operations performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Work with finance and the CEO to establish and stay within the departmental budget.
- Oversee contract production:
- Lead contract production execution for the company.
- Attend trade shows, visit existing and potential clients to maintain relationships as needed.
- Build out contract production backlog to achieve company targets.
- Manage costs, production and planning.
- Manage the quality of all contracts.
- Work with contract clients on recipes and material sourcing, scheduling and logistics.
- Work closely with other department heads to ensure production meets all of their needs.
- Ensure that brewery operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Attend EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) weekly / monthly Meetings.
- Be available to step in and run all aspects of the brewing and packaging operations.
- Supervise and manage brewery staff; including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and employee development.
- Establish strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing to reduce costs and ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Identify and develop value-added opportunities, such as new product lines, improved packaging, or expanded service offerings.
- Ensure the quality of all Lift Bridge Brewing Co. products meet strict company standards.

- Manage all equipment and maintenance needs.
- Manage all equipment selection, layout, procurement and installation.
- Other duties as assigned.
