Position Overview
Our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee their Neenah, WI facility. This role requires a hands-on leader with demonstrated expertise in operational excellence, people development, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will foster collaboration across teams, maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and drive measurable improvements in key performance areas.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
- Foster a culture of servant leadership by coaching and developing team members.
- Lead staffing, training, and development efforts in a unionized work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to the food safety management system and other regulatory standards.
- Act as a member of the Food Safety Team, driving compliance with safety initiatives.
Operational Excellence:
- Address equipment issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
- Oversee ingredient yield and loss to control costs.
- Guarantee that plant floor operators are adequately trained on SOPs and technical operating parameters.
- Manage KPIs collaboratively to achieve and exceed performance goals.
Facilities Management:
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Ensure operational processes align with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, or Engineering).
- Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing organization, with managerial experience.
- Prior experience working in a collaborative, team-driven environment and executing operational plans.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proven decision-making skills under pressure and the ability to simplify complex situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
- Experience in food manufacturing or related industries.
