Empowered Staffing is partnered with a well-established and growing company in the electrical supply and distribution industry. Due to growth, our client is excited to hire aDirector of Operationsto oversee and optimize its operational functions. This role is integral to the company's success, focusing on inventory management, supply chain efficiency, workflow optimization, and supporting growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in operational leadership within a supply house or distribution environment, preferably with expertise in handling large inventories and managing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Inventory Management: Implement and maintain effective inventory control processes to ensure accuracy, minimize shrinkage, and optimize stock levels.
2.Supply Chain Oversight: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage procurement to ensure cost-effective sourcing and timely product availability.
3.Workflow Optimization: Develop and implement efficient workflows across all operational areas, including warehouse logistics, shipping, receiving, inventory, purchasing, and quoting.
4.Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations to ensure seamless coordination between receiving, inventory management, and product distribution.
5.ERP Systems Management: Lead ERP system transitions or upgrades, leveraging platforms like Sage or Oracle to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
6.Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to reduce costs, enhance productivity, and improve customer satisfaction.
7.Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
8.Product Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of product lines to ensure effective inventory management and operational troubleshooting.
9.Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives and support long-term growth initiatives.
10.Expansion Support: Contribute to the successful opening of new locations by designing scalable operational processes and meeting key milestones.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 7 years of operational management experience in a supply house or distribution environment, with astrong preference for candidates from the electrical supplyor similar industries.
- Leadership Experience: At least 3 years in a leadership role, with demonstrated success in managing and mentoring teams.
- Inventory Control: Proven ability to maintain accurate inventory, minimize shrinkage, and optimize procurement processes.
- ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience with ERP platforms like Sage or Oracle, including system implementation and upgrades.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions.
