About the Job
A health services network in New York is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their facilities as their new Director of Nursing.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 6am to 10pm (37.5 hour per week; flexible to choose)
- Setting: Children's Shelter
- Patient Volume: 15
- Patient Population: 12 to 17-year-old boys, unaccompanied minors
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain systems for monitoring the activities of medical staff for quality, timeliness, and appropriateness
- Ensure the efficiency of the healthcare delivery system
- Support Medical staff in the implementation of a team model for care delivery ensuring their participation in and responsiveness to general clinical processes
- Participate in program planning, staff training, program evaluation, research, etc., as needed
- Monitor departmental expenses and assists in the preparation and implementation of the budget
- Develop and implement health education programs in conjunction with the medical director for clinic and other agency staff
- Conduct/coordinates in-service training programs for both clinical and non-clinical staff members
- Provide treatment for medical conditions
- Ascertain whether emergency or specialized treatment is required and coordinates such treatment with the community hospital or agency
- Assist the Clinical team in developing a treatment plan for the child, including psychiatry, psychology, and social issues
- Interpret the assessment and treatment plan as indicated to the Clinical Treatment team
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Nursing experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory
- Experience working with children
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with Unaccompanied Minors and Federal Program regulations
