Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.
Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

JOB TITLE:
Director Human Resources
Reporting to this Position:
HR Business Partner(s), HR Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:The Director of Human Resource Operations will lead, collaborate with, and support the business through the design and implementation of policies, systems and programs that support the achievement of the company's mission and strategic plan. A key part of the Director focus is coaching and associate relations management. Using that input and data to help influence and formulate best practices, process, policy, and procedures to help our associates and leaders develop and perform successfully.
This is an onsite position with some flexibility to work from home on a limited basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactive and productive collaboration with other parts of the Agency in identifying HR policies and procedures that ensure process excellence, efficiency, equity, and compliance in HR service delivery. Must be experience in legal implications and writing and implementing policies.
- Ability to collaborate with Leadership and Peers to set, understand, and support organizational goals and strategies.
- Effectively oversee associate relations, support necessary leaves, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, policies, procedures, and project management.
- Ensure effective onboarding and off-boarding procedures.
- Optimize HRIS and other systems to support desired outcomes for the Agency.
- Monitors and mitigates risk related to compliance and reporting.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices and regulatory changes and new technologies.
- Develops and manages vendor relationships, RFP process management for new systems reviews, curiosity and reviewing of data and outputs to look for opportunities for streamlining and improvements through systems or processes.
- Build, retain, and mentor a strong team through performance coaching and professional development.
- Partner closely with Corporate Compliance supporting policies, practices and procedures and addressing Compliance Hotline concerns effectively.
- Comply with all relevant regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumers' protected health information (PHI) as established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
- Follow all policies and procedures set by the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
ABOUT YOU/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 7 years in progressive responsibility in HR roles with strong aptitude for associate relations and process improvements.
- At least 3 years' experience leading and developing teams.
- Prior experience with complex change management in a matrixed and diverse working environment.
- Experience creating cultural change and supporting a climate of inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Proven ability to perform effectively with changing priorities or ambiguitypresent.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree
- SPHR or PHR strongly preferred.
- Mid-sized health care experience in a growing organization.
