Responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for GME and Medical Staff Administration working with the GME programs. This includes establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring the goals an objectives of the local hospital while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of Health Education Services (HES). Major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management. Working closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of GME across the enterprise.
Duties Include:
● Assist HES in all correspondence with ACGME at the institutional and program levels as requested
● Oversight of resident work hours, resident supervision, and evaluation process that meets ACGME requirements
● Track residency program citations and program action plans to address ACGME citations with HES
● Responsible for ensuring accuracy of annual WebADS program update to HES
● Facilitation of program letters of agreement for learners.
● Oversight of inter-institutional affiliation agreements
● Quarterly audits (internal program review) through the resident management suite (New Innovations) of each specialty area as designated by the corporate leadership and/or program directors
● Development of mechanisms to ensure appropriate teaching of ACGME competencies
● Liaison between programs, hospital leadership, and corporate GME leadership
● Assist hospitals with the creation of new programs which may include serving as the initial program support during the application and accreditation phase
● Facilitating onboarding and off boarding and necessary training and orientation logistics for residents and GME staff
● Work closely with HR to coordinate facility orientation for incoming trainees
● Supervision of GME program administrative staff
● Assist financial services to fill out cost reports and maintain all records necessary for GME reimbursement as mandated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
● Represent the organization at professional conferences and committees, as required
● Serve liaison with academic institutions to develop and support appropriate undergraduate, and graduate medical education programs and activities.
● Identifies and addresses own professional growth needs.
● Maintains membership in professional organization(s) to develop knowledge and resources through networking, continuing education, and participation in national, regional, and/or local activities.
