**_JOB TITLE:_** Director of Business Development-State, Local, and Education (SLED) Markets
**_SALARY:_** $145,000 to $180,000
**_EMPLOYEE TYPE:_** Full-Time Salary Exempt

**LOCATION:** Remote, Sacramento CA or Austin Texas Preferred
**Willing to do Remote US for the right candidate**
The Director of Business Development will lead Cayuse Civil Services, LLC initiatives in the State, Local, and Education (SLED) Markets. All duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
**Job Responsibilities**
+ Leverage existing relationships and cultivate new connections in the SLED and programs space to identify and qualify business opportunities.
+ Research and analyze capture options, developing and executing proven capture strategies to secure new clients.
+ Establish trusting, honest broker relationships with clients, providing support, information, and solutions to their challenges and opportunities.
+ Collaborate with Contracting Officers to craft executable delivery approaches and fair contractual outcomes based on mutual interests.
+ Identify and qualify potential teaming partners and business relationships that contribute to the development of winning proposals and successful project delivery.
+ Translate buyer requirements into mission-relevant solutions, aligning solution architecture with final terms and conditions.
+ Manage all client interactions throughout the sales/capture cycle, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
+ Assist or lead in the preparation of project estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource/sourcing plans.
+ Actively participate in Bid/No Bid discussions, proposal strategies, drafting proposal content, and conducting quality reviews of proposals.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, MBA a plus;
+ Minimum 8 years of successful government capture
+ Demonstrated understanding of and experience with federal contracting approaches and vehicles, including IDIQs, CTAs, Category Management, best in breed, etc.
+ Familiarity and experience with DCAA compliant accounting systems; Deltek CostPoint a plus Proficient in government and commercial opportunity mining resources, i.e., GovWin, Bloomberg, SAM, etc
+ Ability to align technical solutions with client needs and requirements.
+ Experience in preparing project estimates, schedules, and work plans.
+ Familiarity with Bid/No Bid discussions and proposal development.
+ Proven track record of success in business development within SLED markets.
+ Strong understanding of government procurement processes and contracting.
+ Willing to travel for short term assignments.
+ Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature
+ Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
**Minimum Skills:**
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
+ Working knowledge of Shipley processes for business development and proposal management
+ Existing relationships with potential clients and teaming partners, such that one can "hit the ground running" required.
+ Self-starter, ability to independently, yet as part of a team.
+ Shall have the requisite skills, expertise, and experience to perform the requirements of each task. Must be extremely detail-oriented and well organized.
+ Must have proficient skills using Microsoft and Google Suite Products (Word, Excel, Power Point) and be able to learn new software as the situation dictates.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Location Remote in CA (Sacramento area or LA County strongly preferred) or Austin, TX **Willing to do Remote US for the right candidate**
+ Experience working in our key states (WA, OR, CA, TX, HI)
+ Significant connections with larger consulting firms for teaming opportunities a plus
**Reports to:** Company Managing Director
**Working Conditions**
+ Professional remote office environment.
+ Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties while standing for extended periods of time.
+ Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
+ Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
+ Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
+ May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
+ May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
+ May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
