This position will be required to develop business relationships with influencers & stakeholders within the respective client organizations, be the lead/ point of contact for all client matters, anticipate their needs, and align solutions with needs for current and future proposals/business development. The Director of Business Development will ensure deadlines are met for active on-going projects/proposals, and help the customers realize success relative to collaborations in both the present and in the future.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in site senior leadership team meetings and in strategic annual planning, including setting objectives and strategies as well as takes accountability for implementation and results.
- Resolves client issues, complaints and anticipates key account improvements by way of project management guidance and outreach.
- Manages communications between customer and internal teams and assists with management of team activities assigned to each designated customer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Generates new leads and opportunities leveraging the company and the incumbents network.
- Builds solid, trusting, and measurable relationships with clients and companies while developing a complete understanding of client needs.
- Works with various internal stakeholders (Executive, Tech Ops, Project Mgmt., etc.) to build and plan strategically to improve customer results.
- Participates in client visits, regional and national trade shows, and conferences as required.
- Negotiates and draft proposals with the customers, conducts regular business reviews/updates, as well as establishes timelines to measure performance.
- Works with client project team members to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced, customer needs are met, and expectations are managed.
- Collaborates with technical operations to complete evaluation, scoping and construction of project activities for new or repeat key account projects, with the support to assist in proposal writing when appropriate.
- Resolves client issues, complaints and anticipates key account improvements by way of project management guidance and outreach.
- Identifies market trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets.
- Participates in site management team and planning meetings, including setting objectives and strategies as well as taking accountability for implementation and results.
- Supports the broader BD team in developing new service offerings and analyzing market trends.
- Plans and presents reports on account progress, goals, and strategic initiatives to share with team members and stakeholders for company forecasting & planning activities.
- Analyzes customer data to provide measurable customer relationship management quarterly and annually, while accurately forecasting key account pipeline for projected growth.
- Manages both existing pipeline and new business opportunities.
- Interfaces with Inside Sales & Marketing to develop content targeted to key client segment(s); preparation activities for tradeshows will include scheduling key account meetings.
- Develops cross-company collaborations necessary to implement key strategic initiatives including R&D collaboration and commercial alignment opportunities.
- Collaborates with R&D program management and portfolio leaders with the implementation of technology evaluations and partnerships.
- Identifies and conducts business case analysis of technology licensing & acquisition opportunities as well as partnerships and collaborations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in related scientific discipline, business, or marketing.
- 5 years pharmaceutical drug product development experience.
- Track record of technical leadership, including technical conference and client presentations.
- 2 years in a client-facing role preferred.
- Requires 10 years of GMP experience.

- Proficient with CRM, Office and other related software.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
- Approximately 25% of travel required, and at times greater than 50%.
- Travel will be predominately domestic with the potential for international travel.
