Position Purpose
The Director of Education is crucial for developing and implementing the organization’s educational vision and ensuring program quality. This role focuses on creating and updating curricula, training instructors, and improving educational resources. The Director works closely with senior management to ensure educational strategies align with the organization’s goals.
Key CompetenciesInclude:
- Ensuring compliance with ACCSC, State, FAA, and other regulations.
- Supporting and developing educational staff.
- Enhancing student growth and coordinating with administrative staff for smooth program operation.
This position ensures that educational programs meet standards and support the organization's overall success.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact between the campus and corporate education directors.
- Regularly review and update school curricula to ensure instructors use the latest syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks.
- Supervise and support all instructors at the school, ensuring adherence to curriculum standards, fostering professional development, and maintaining a positive learning environment for both faculty and students.
- Conduct and report on instructor performance evaluations at least twice a year.
- Observe classrooms, and substitute as an instructor when needed.
- Maintain and update Faculty Personnel Reports (FPR) for each instructor.
- Facilitate initial training for instructors in accordance with ACCSC standards and support ongoing professional development.
- Chair Program Coordinator meetings, review meeting minutes, and ensure they are accurately maintained.
- Organize and facilitate Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, ensure minutes are reviewed, and distribute them to relevant parties.
- Perform other education-related tasks as assigned by the Campus Director.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
- Associate’s degree
- 5+ years of management experience or proven leadership in a relevant role, demonstrating a track record of effectively guiding teams, driving performance, and achieving organizational goals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Demonstrated expertise in resolving conflicts, fostering positive workplace relationships, and collaborating effectively within teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a knack for building rapport and maintaining professional relationships.
- Capable individual contributor with effective leadership skills; adept at balancing diplomacy and assertiveness to guide teams and manage diverse situations.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and communications.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet organizational needs and support operational demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Educational experience in private-for-profit college education
- Campus Vue and SharePoint experience
