One of Vaco's PE-backed B2B clients is looking to onboard a Director of Accounting as a result of an internal promotion. Prior experience with private equity groups and the pace with which they operate is a huge plus as well as any exposure to acquisition integration and purchase accounting.
There is high growth potential right now with the company and they are looking for someone to step into a VP/Controller position in the next 2-3 years.
Day-to-day
- Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Provide financial insights and reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead the implementation or upgrade of accounting systems and tools.
- Partner with finance teams to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor variances and provide recommendations for cost management and optimization.
Looking for:
- Bachelors in Accounting or relevant field, CPA or CPA in-process nice-to-have
- Leadership experience over the full scope and breadth of accounting operations
- "Servant leader" mentality with a strong focus on mentorship and growth
- Exposure to midmarket private equity operations
