About the Job
The Director of Pharmacy Clinical Services provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for pharmacy clinical programs, pharmacy residency programs, and pharmacy student academic affairs under the supervision of the Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer and in partnership with the Pharmacy Operations Management team.

This Director of Pharmacy Clinical Services will be responsible for:
- Developing strategies, goals, programs, and initiatives for advancing patient safety and providing high-quality medication-related patient care.
- Overseeing professional activities of clinical pharmacists and providing guidance and support for advanced clinical integration, standardization, and expansion of pharmacy services to optimize patient outcomes.
- Striving for practice excellence through continuous professional development, demonstrating academic excellence and strong operational knowledge to enhance delivery of high-quality care. Ensuring all hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards are met for BCH hospital and clinic locations.
- Contributing to operational budget development, management of drug costs/utilization, and manages labor expenses by achieving targets within the budget.
- Guiding the creation and maintenance of a healthy work environment, accomplished through effective coaching, staff empowerment, and continual communication related to high-level performance.
- Overseeing and supporting hiring, training, and professional development of next-level managers, pharmacists, technicians, residents, and interns.
To qualify, you must have:
- Graduated from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) degree. Advanced degree (e.g. MS, MBA, MHA, etc.) is preferred
- Current Massachusetts license as a Pharmacist
- Minimum of 7 years as a pharmacist with at least 5 years of progressive hospital pharmacy leadership/management
- Academic medical center experience, and experience with pediatric drug distribution models is highly preferred.
