The Role:
The Director of Legal and Operations – Personal Injury will oversee and streamline the operational and legal aspects of the personal injury division, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery. This role requires strategic leadership to enhance workflows, foster collaboration between legal and operational teams, and drive exceptional outcomes for clients.
The ideal candidate will be a Personal Injury Attorney and have a deep understanding of personal injury law and operations, combined with strong leadership and organizational management skills. This role reports directly to senior leadership and will work cross-functionally to optimize processes, manage risk, and ensure the division's success.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary with the ability to align team efforts with organizational goals by showing a mastery of workflows and process optimization to ensure the operation is running smoothly. You’ll have a deep understanding of personal injury law and compliance requirements and be able to collaborate seamlessly across departments and leadership levels focusing on measurable results and continuous improvement.
This role will ideally be based in our Boca Raton office location requiring three days per week in the office and working remotely two days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
• Lead and manage the legal and operations teams within the personal injury division.
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, including the COO, Heads of Ops and VP of Business Development to align division goals with company objectives.
Operational Management:
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the personal injury division, ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to best practices.
• Design and implement process improvements to enhance case management and operational efficiency.
• Monitor performance metrics and key indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
Legal Oversight:
• Ensure all legal processes comply with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
• Provide guidance on case strategies, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with internal and external legal teams to manage risk and address complex cases effectively.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:
• Act as a liaison between legal, operations, and other departments to foster alignment and effective communication.
• Work closely with the marketing, sales, and technology teams to ensure cohesive strategies and operations.
• Represent the personal injury division in cross-functional leadership meetings and initiatives.
Team Development:
• Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build a high-performing legal and operations team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback to drive individual and team success.
Risk Management & Compliance:
• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization.
• Stay up to date on regulatory changes and industry trends, adapting processes accordingly.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all personal injury cases.
What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree required; JD is required.
• 5+ years of experience in personal injury law, legal operations, or a related field.
• Proven leadership experience managing legal and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury case management, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Expertise in operational workflows, process improvement, and performance measurement.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and tactically.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience working across diverse teams.
• Proficiency in legal and operational software systems (e.g., case management software, CRM).
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-stakes operations with precision and efficiency.
