Job Summary
Skyworks Solutions is a leading provider of acoustic solutions for mobile devices, wireless infrastructure, and IoT applications. We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of BAW/SAW Filter New Product Introduction to lead our global team. This position will set the tone for technical direction in conjunction with business leaders and other divisional engineering leaders to ensure commercial success. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and delivering high-performance filters and testing solutions to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation wireless communication systems and IoT devices.
Job Description
Skyworks is seeking an NPI Director to lead and improve NPI Organization within the BAW Filter New Product / New Technology Group. As a highly skilled and strategic leader, you will play pivotal role to successfully launch new products meeting Performance, Quality and Time-to-Market. Having affinity with innovative solutions which can be applied throughout development to high-volume manufacturing, you will ensure a seamless coordination across various department in a multicultural environment with teams like R&D Engineers, Device, Process experts, Module Design teams, Program Management and Operations.
The NPI Director will drive the overall NPI Setup and Best Practices. You will be based in Irvine, California and manage teams in Japan and Singapore.
The job will involve the following functions:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive NPI strategy aligned with the company’s goal.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to all design and technology rules, define technology choice, timelines, milestones and deliverables for new product launch.
• Lead end-to-end readiness ensuring a smooth transition from product development to production release, coordinating activities across Design, Process, Test, Operations and Module team to meet Quality, Performance and Schedule.
• Work with design engineering and assist in transition of design prototypes into cost efficient and high-volume manufacturable products
• Lead and coordinate the Product Readiness: Capability, Tolerance Chain Analysis between Process and Product, Reliability at the different stages of the technology development to achieve Cpk and yield targets during NPI and Ramp-Up phase.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in the NPI process and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate and openly debate with team to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues, and learn more about critical issues as a group.
• Implement or improve solutions to minimize disruptions in the NPI workflow.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in your organization, NPI process and associated department through feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each NPI cycle.
• Report and maintain knowledge on product status to executive leadership by preparing appropriate reports.
Qualifications
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, RF Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in New Product Introduction / Product Engineering / Design.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and used to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Strong understanding of Product Development, manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
• Experience in the design or product engineering of SAW/BAW filters is required.
• Knowledge in Project Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.
• Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result- and data-driven can-do mentality.
• Works autonomously, well-organized, with good attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $166,600 - $333,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
