Job Type: Full-Time
Duties:
- Oversee all daily operations of the dining facility, ensuring compliance with Air Force and federal sanitation and safety regulations.
- Supervise and manage staff, including mess attendants and support personnel, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and professionally.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all meal periods, including weekends.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, kitchen equipment, and other materials, ensuring timely re-stocking to prevent operational delays.
- Ensure proper sanitation practices in all areas, including tableware, kitchen equipment, and dining areas, following AFI 48-116 and FDA Food Code standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and timeliness in meal preparation and service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or requests promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify adherence to cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost control without compromising service quality or facility operations.
- Provide training to staff on safety procedures, proper equipment handling, and hygiene requirements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service or dining facility management, preferably in a military or institutional environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and operational standards for dining facilities.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with staff and patrons.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with federal and Air Force regulations, including AFI 48-116 Food Safety Program.
