SUMMARY:
This is position is responsible in assisting with the management of the Coalition's Communications strategy and objectives. This position is responsible in assisting with the development, coordination, and implementation of a broad range of communication activities. The position assists with all communication efforts to enrich the public's knowledge of Coalition services and bring to light the benefit to our Palm Beach County community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports content creation, scheduling, reporting, and tracking on Coalition social media platforms.
- May serve as a presenter on internal and external conferencing platforms, social media platforms, such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and other forward-facing opportunities.
- Develop ideas and opportunities that promote awareness of the organization and its services to the community.
- Assists with integrated awareness campaigns, including strategy, planning, implementation, execution, and reporting.
- Assist with Coalition projects, events, and special requests for the organization.
- Assists in proposal writing and presentations, including online and video.
- Assist with development, production/execution, and maintenance of the company's internal and external communication vehicles; including but not limited to the website, marketing materials, print publications, newsletters, invitations, flyers, advertisements, annual reports, online communications, media, and public relations.
- Research and write press releases, and content for the company website, infographics, blogs, and podcasts.
- Maintains Chief Executive Officer's calendar and appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
- Assists in the coordination of Board of Directors and Committee meetings, prepares agenda, meeting minutes and maintains action item tracking document.
- Administer confidential material that requires professionalism, discretion, and integrity in dealing with internal and external contacts.
- Collect data from different sources to prepare high level documentation, advanced correspondence and for presentations and reports for the Executive Office.
- Edit/proofread direct mail and other communications documents.
- Supports program staff with other communications support activities as needed.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary to maintain the success of the organization, as determined by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position requires successful completion of the level 2 background screening standards as set forth in s. 435.04, F.S. and drug screening as the Coalition is a drug free workplace.
- Valid Florida driver's license is required, a good driving record and automobile insurance, as required by the Early Learning Coalition driving policy.
- Daily attendance on time and as scheduled is required with the ability to work flexible hours when required.
- Bilingual and able to read, write and speak in English and Spanish proficiently, is preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in related field (journalism, communication, English, marketing, liberal arts, public relations, advertising, political science, etc.) required.
- Three years of relevant experience or equivalent required, preferably related to communications and/or nonprofit, early care and education industry.
- Excellent writing, verbal, editing, presentation, and overall communication skills.
- Expertise in the development of strategic communication plans and using research to develop key messages.
- Ability to understand and translate complex information into messaging for various audiences.
- Experience using presentation software (PowerPoint) and cloud-based video communications (Zoom, GoToWebinar, and Microsoft Teams).
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- This position requires a candidate who can work remotely and in an office setting, with the ability to complete mandatory in office trainings and attend meetings when required.
- This position requires high speed internet access that can be maintained daily, at least 25 Mbps (download) and 5 Mbps (upload) when working in a secure home location.
- Basic understanding of how to troubleshoot computer and internet issues.
- Must be Tech savvy overall, using cloud-based systems, IOS, Windows 8 and 10, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of general office procedures of basic operational tasks, including answering phones, using email, using computerized and online systems to perform daily work.
