Worksite Address: Richmond IN 4737Work Arrangement:OnsiteA Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:• Monitorfood service operations to ensure compliance to nutritional, and safety.• Assessnutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop andimplement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.• Advisepatients and staff on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications,and food selection and preparation.• Consult with physicians and health carepersonnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient.•Record diet histories and assessments, charts, and progress notes.The jobprofile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing ofactivities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Otherduties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any timewith or without notice.You must meet the following requirements to be consideredfor employment:• Optional requirement to be registered as a dietitian by theAcademy of Nutrition & Dietetics.• Specialized knowledge of the principles,techniques and terminology of modern dietetics and institutional managementgained through experience.• Working knowledge of modern methods, materials andequipment used in quantity food service and the care necessary to conserve allresources.• Ability to plan menus and oversee personnel in modified and regulardiet preparation and service.• Ability to conduct food service and/or nutritionrelated training programs.• Ability to interact with treatment team, medical andadministrative staff and patients.Responsibility:While not the final authority,incumbent must exercise judgment in applying alternatives and in conferring withmedical/nursing staff and dietary supervisors related to unusual dietaryproblems or concerns. Unusual problems or deviation from guidelines arediscussed with supervisor who otherwise reviews work periodically foraccomplishment of objectives.Personal Work Relationships:Works with patients,physicians and other clinical staff as required, hospital department heads,students, commercial vendors, general public and community sector.
