• Position Summary
  • The Dietetic Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient meal and nourishment selections in accordance with diet orders and nutrition interventions.
• Minimum Qualifications
  • Education
    • Must be at least 17 years old and currently enrolled in high school or an equivalent educational program.
  • Credentials
    • State Required: None
    • GPH Required/Preferred: None
• Physical Demands
  • Stand and/or walk constantly.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb small ladder occasionally.
  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs. force frequently.
  • Bend, reach, stoop and kneel occasionally
  • Eye hand coordination occasionally.
  • Reach shoulder height constantly.
• Essential Functions
  • Enters patient meal requests accurately in accordance with diet order score
  • May assist tray line building patient trays.
  • May assist in preparing food items for meal prep.
  • May assist serving trays to patients.
  • May assist in removal of trays from patient rooms and report or chart intake of meals, snacks and supplements
  • Communicates patient’s special needs, diet preferences or changes to Dietitian for follow up.
  • Track supplement stock and build weekly order form.
  • May assist Dietitian with assessments upon completion of an ADA certified program as a Dietetic Technician.
