The dietary aide assignments are determined by the basis on the activity of the shift. Dietary Aides will report to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

Who are we looking for?
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting with daily food service operations, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and supporting the dietary team to ensure high-quality meal preparation and service for residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn food service routines quickly to ensure efficient operations.
- Set up meal trays and assist in serving meals.
- Strip returned trays and operate the dishwasher for cleaning.
- Monitor and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift and during cycles.
- Prepare nourishments and snacks for residents
- Sweep and mop the kitchen and maintain clean floors.
- Dispose of trash and garbage properly.
- Safely organize and store groceries.
- Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Aid the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
- Work cooperatively and harmoniously with personnel across all departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand technical procedures and recipes.
- Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers and team members.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler's certificate.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
