About the Job
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Development Manager in Anaheim, CA.
Responsiblefor managing and overseeing the organization of the donor database (gift processing, data integrity, financial integrity); expanding donor relations, membership programs; support key business events; and other administrative and project-based work for the Development department.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
- Manage, mentor, and partner with existing team members to reach fundraising goal.
- Ensure department projects are completed in a timely manner and by deadline.
- Provide meaningful oversight and support in executing fundraising programs including fundraising appeals, events, Board and Volunteer committee meetings, donor relationships, etc.
- Have strong writing and verbal communication skills, exhibited through the development of successful donor content and cultivation.
- Take initiative to improve and optimize fundraising programs supported by data and testing.
- Propose new fundraising programs supported by research and experience and ensure fundraising program success.
- Understand audience segmentation.
- Provide recommendations and report metrics for Development programming, segmentation, and targeting.
- Oversee data integrity and take steps to ensure information is handled in a timely manner. Systems include but not limited to Raiser’s Edge, EveryAction, Excel and more.
- Manage events reconciliation and reporting with finance.
- Produce content/copywriting for fundraising and event materials.
- Provide support and produce reports and presentations which illustrate impact. Including and not limited to Board and Management reports, program success, committee presentations and more.
- Lead committee meetings/presentation materials in partnership with the Director of Development.
- Meet individual fundraising goals through renewed and upgraded gifts from existing donors, securing new donors, and donor cultivation.
- Initiate and maintain positive and purposeful prospect and donor relationships with the goal of facilitating increases in gift giving.
- Perform and maintain donor and prospect research, including: assessment of constituent’s philanthropic capacities, identifying top prospects and determining depth of their engagement with the organization and other research that will inform a campaign strategy.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and understand how their goals relate to and support Development’s goals.
- Learn and understand existing procedure and organizational policies.

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Humanities, Social Sciences, English preferred), or relevantexperience
- Graduate degree a plus.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum4 yearsof experience or demonstrated success with a non-profit in a development position with fundraising and special event experience or demonstrated success.
- Experience with bookkeeping/ financial reconciliation a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstratedability to partner effectively with donors, volunteers, and high-level stakeholders.
- Demonstratedrecord ofcompletingassignments, improving processes and offering new ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, develop options, and make recommendations for most effective fund-raising strategies.
- Experience using donor database software, particularly Raiser’s Edge,
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to follow through, set priorities and accomplish objectives on
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication
- Accuracyand attention to detail

- Must demonstrate high level computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Electronic medical records experience may also be required.
- This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle to meet this requirement, a valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of CA vehicle code are required.
