The Unit Assistant performs administrative and clerical functions in the unit and acts as a liaison. Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces the mission statement of Christian Health.
Competencies:
- Sets up follow up appointments for patients as ordered; communicate with Doctor’s office and ensure required tests and paperwork are completed from CH.
- Set up transport for scheduled appointments/Communicate with families any changes in appointments/payment requirement as needed/coordinate with CH team; doctor office and families about upcoming appointments.
- Review New Admissions to Assess Pre-Assessment Consult.
- Follow up after appointments for next date in Sigma.
- Complete 6 point set up for Appointments.
- Assess New Admissions for Wound Consult, Phycologist & Podiatry and other internal specialty appointment.
- Assess for Changes to Dialysis Patients In COPS.
- Assess Patients transferred to other Units –transfer their Appointments and Files for Charts Inform the Clerk.
- Filing & Charting.
- Ensure that Long-Term Residents have Supplies.
- Distribute patient mail & packages.
Schedule: 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday.
Education: High School Graduate with some secretarial education preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
Qualifications:
- One year of secretarial experience.
- Strong organizational skills preferred.
